The Literary Society was established with an aspiration to engage the students with the understanding of art, life, and genres outside of the academic curriculum. The Society organizes an array of literary activities such as debates, declamations, group discussions, poetry writing and recitation, short story writing, quiz contests, interactive/lecture sessions, etc. The Society aims to promote a plurality of languages and literature. Through different literary activities, it creates a platform where literary connoisseurs and enthusiasts can share and discuss ideas and concepts.
The Society has been instrumental in building a community of creative, imaginative, and thoughtful human beings. It has created deep awareness about several issues of local and global importance. It sensitizes students to react constructively to disparity and injustice in society, inculcate socially desirable values such as empathy and cooperation. Participation and engagement with the Society help students in acquiring effective communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
